sent my mom to the santa fe pick up site so she could go to buffalo thunder early around 8:30am

went to the office

we as a staff went out for lunch

got the nice lucy lewis blanket (retail$175 at merch) as a gift from swaia

went out for food, sat with corey, paula, sharon, paula's crew

got the carne asada yum steak

then she dropped me off at the la fonda

apparently leenas as much of an idiot as ever, threatening to have christine arrested for leaving the door open.....whatever

went to dinner with my mom to the san francisco bar and grill where we dint rally eat

but i had the seafood linguini which was super heavy but good

then around 10, nica, autumn, and nick show up at the la fonda

i gave them my box of food

had some cookies

then a crowd of meth heads emerge from the la fonda and ask HAVE YOU SEEN A GUY RUNNING PAST HERE

and we were like no

and all these dudes in wifebeaters and jerseys run out in all directions and we quickly got into nica's car and drove around

saw all of them sprawling around downtown

then went to atomic grill where i left this review:

Food was fine, I guess, but the service was just plain awful. We only ordered two drinks and an appetizer to share and it took an hour. We waited for the check but it took so long that we stood near the counter for five minutes and then we saw our waiter hugging and saying hello to his friends. Then we went back to the table, left money, and left. The waiter then chased after us and started screaming at us that we were a dollar short on the bill and that we should tip him. He began to curse, insult us and threaten to call the cops, and demanded a "non-shitty tip" and asked if any of us have ever worked in food. We paid off the bill, left a dollar tip, and walked away and he continued to yell about how we would never be allowed back in. Don't worry, buddy, it's never gonna happen again. And I hope those customers sitting outside in your area enjoyed the little spectacle you created.

gala was great

except i was stuck doing photo printing for kitty

corey and montana got on my nerves because they had the burdensome task of finding people to get photos, but you know what, im the printer and editer, if you want to run the show, go ahead. tell kitty and then make it clear from the start, otherwise, we have to follow through.

the auction was good

met xavier erpelding, who offered to walk me home which was nice i guess

saw all the jewelers i know and adore haha

ended up modeling veronica poblano's asymmetrical necklace and _____'s earrings haha

gotta say that i chuckled at corey's absolute confusion with kenneth johnson's cuff bracelet with the sri lankan sapphires

montana did a great job modeling as well

oh my god, private jet fly in collectors and the head of QVC and the owners of chipotle

all there at the gala and auction

the bidding war over veronica adam's purse was great haha

and keri ataumbi and robin waynee's collab auction was lovely :)

especially on tailinh, and with keri taking it and putting it on the bidding ladies' necks :)

clothing contest was a fun event, took a lot of photos

even emil her many horses, one of my judges, judged haha

in general suuch a fun event, but i have to say i couldnt stand royale da's attitude and voice

it doesnt help knowing how unhappy she was about how unprofessional it is.

fine, royale, don't do it next year. if tom ford enjoyed it enough to tell the press that he'd be willing to do it again without persuasion, maybe we shouldn't get some small-time news anchorwoman complaining how she doesnt have a goddamn teleprompter--hey, that's how life goes, kind of unscripted, funny how that turns out huh? i hate people who don't understand the time and place and just how much work it takes to put anything up, and clothing contest isn't exactly the venue to get all diva-ish (stupid jhane and royale)

got to say hi and get some autographs

met almost all my judges

rubbed elbows with mary kershaw, emil her many horses, lara evans, karen kramer, tatiana lomaheftewa-singer, ryan rice--all the museum people. and some artists like fidel bahe who wrote me in as his choice for the Smile award, charmae shields nasteway, susan billy :)

definitely tried to meet everyone but it failed because i overslept x-x

tried to talk to others like gov george rivera, cathy notarnicola, and bronwyn fox but im too shyyy

toook alll day, watched the best of each class, including film

steve minkler was the best part of my preview because he ran up to his photograph and said I DID IT, I DID IT

then stayed for HOURS milking the public and making chit chat. was sooo funny :)

then i talked to jeremy frey, who is really cute actually, and his brother who was nice

then the lights int eh convention center went out because of the thunderstorm. INSANITY! i thought when they came back on, all the jewelry would be gone and the basket gone hahaha. we had a good laugh about it haha

well i finally got back to the room when janet hoffmann (sp) and tilden hoffmann gave me a ride back to the hotel and told me about their 13 cats. seriously, indian market man.

for the record,

the works in the art contest put in that room

made the best art show i could never find in any other museum or gallery

these objects were the best of these artists, and i could feel the love, care, precision, in each piece, in each person's hand. it was amazing, and these were all center pieces as far as im concerned.

went to the opening of the new native photography exhibit at the fine arts museum

went with corey and met up with dolores

the three of us then went to osteria d'assisi, and it was sooo good

bellini (peach puree + presecco), yummy bread, cream of asparagus soup, ravioli with veal in a mushroom cream sauce, and tiramisu

also, shirley maclaine and julia cameron (author of The Artist's Way and Martin Scorsese's second wife) sat at the next table

got on the late bus home and chilled :)

last night was nice, i had palacio tomato and mozzerella melt with turkey, and i saved half that sandwich for dinner

but then after the tiring, exhausting, tedious work wtih john in his office, i went to the inn at anasazi to get a drink with corey

we also ordered a half thing of chicken nachos which was really huge and good :) fresh pico de gallo, guacamole, etc.

had a "pear blossom" drink and it was yummyyyy

took the bus home and christine bought me nesquik and honey bunches of oats for dinner haha

but i had my leftover chicken nachos

and then nica came over to dry her laundry and hang out and today she turned 25, happy birthday nica!!

poor thing seems so haggard because of the summer but at least billy is putting a smile on her face :)

this morning i woke up just a bit late and thought of my love :)

woke up to the icky grey sky due to rain, but im not gonna let it get to me

there are things to be done about these volunteer packets, potentially being sent out to the wrong address, with the wrong assignments, names, and i know for a fact some of my judges didnt get a thing. goddamnit lisa i hate you im glad you're gone.

the arroyo fire aka leena minifie is coming back next week and im out!

on the way to work i saw a homeless man and finally got to give away the half loaf of bread sitting in my bag for hte last week

tuesday and today

tuesday was just kind of weird

i woke up really late and said FUUUUCK and got christine to drive me

i missed half of our staff meeting, and apparently im put on projects that i didnt fully hear

on top of that, right after we had a meeting about the clothing contest and good lord no one wants to do anything for it, it just seems like such a nuisance. jhane flaked out hard because of a whole bunch of stuff, and she's on her way to being just jhane myers, not jhane myers noisecat. apparently that's been her personal burden that's made an excuse to flake out on this.

gomeo is such a sweetheart, it's too bad he's all the way out in zuni...

the meeting fell apart so quickly, bruce just left it, we couldnt get gomeo or henry on speaker

then nothing came together and all we did was complain about how we cant fnd the supply list from last year

i am so done with the shittiness of other people

lisa got fired, she's gone, so now we're dealing with that

for lunch i got $15 ramen...it was okay. 3 pieces of meat, one sliver of a shitake mushroom. i hate santa fe when it comes to food.

If You Taka My Space I Breaka You Face--NYC Weekend (07/28-08/01)

didn't update my blog because i wasnt in the city different but in so many cities due to my layovers (atlanta mostly, a bit in cincinnati) all to get to the empire state, the big apple, to my love

fantastic weekend

surprised my darling at a turkish restaurant on 34th and 3rd, which was painful to get to due to my huge backpack and aerobed, but andrew and cheng helped me

met robert and michael and waited for fardeen and travis to show

hehe priceless face that's for sure, as though an apparition was in front of him

the layovers were okay, got a lot of people asking me about the tinsel and the perled necklace

people helped me with my bags which was nice

nothing like being back in muggy smelly new york

missed those buildings and the green, oh the green is magical :)

then i spent all of friday with my love, walking around and from chinatown to riverside park to ktown

sigh :)

best day ive had this summer, full of love and kisses and hugs and fun time

saturday was spent with fardeen and his friends at jones beach, which was nice

got to meet more people like ryan, tori, stephanie, ashley, and austin

yay the ocean

first time i ever enjoyed the beach that's for sure

sunday was with cheng, we ate and shopped and talked

very chill summer day, enjoying the city and then going back to edison haha

found the sign in Little Italy but it was all janky so i didnt buy it

monday was all by myself except cheng did drop me off in the city

i sat in herald square, enjoying a bagel, people watching

then bought osme more shitty little keychains

bought some snacks from h-mart

then bought dinner at woorijip (spicy tuna kimbap) and enjoyed a milkis

then headed on the nj transit to newark, newark to cincinnati, cincinnati to atlanta, atlanta to albuquerque, then nica picked me up and sent me to jewelry ditch, santa fe haha

funnily enough i sat next to tanay tatum on the flight from newark to cincinnati and we chatted, talked about our lovely boyfriends, generally met for the first time haha. small world

cincinnati to atlanta was in a bigger plane thank god and i was asleep for half of it haha

atlanta to albuquerque was a blur because i fell asleep but i remember the plane being really nice

and the ride from albuquerque to santa fe was cool because nica and i chatted, and stopped by a gas station to get some snacks and then getting home and having christine run out and be like THANK GOD, PEOPLE LIVE HERE!

gave christine her gifts which she liked (panda coinbanktoy, turtle keychain, fortune cat cellphone keychain, and "deal with this" post it notes)

talked for a bit, set up my room to look like a room

and fell asleep
